Sidekick is fun, but Boring
So, after always wanting a sidekick since the black and white days, I
finally got a sidekick lx 09 this past week and I gotta say I'm pretty
disappointed. The sidekick IS a fun device to use, but there's not much you can do
with it. The apps for this thing is a joke. The catalog caters to dumb
rich children I guess because the apps are waay overpriced and useless.
I was looking for a comprehensive note taking app and all I found is
Clevernote with an unintuitive UI and Mobile Journal (come on, let's be
real. I'm 22 not 12.)Its makes me wish I knew how to program j2me, I would code some sick
apps for $1.99 a piece and I'm sure everyone would be happy.Another disappointing thing is how long it takes to get my email. I
can't viably depend on this thing for email because it takes like an
hour for me to get what my Nokia e71x got almost instantaneously. And no
HTML email? Really? The web browser, though sufficient, is lacking. I would like the option
for multiple tabs and a zoom in box like Opera mobile has. As a matter
of fact, just port Opera on this and be done with it...I know all this complaining sounds like I'm a hater, but I'm not. I've
been a fan of the sidekicks since the day they first came out, even
though I only just got one. Its hard to see the sidekick line dying when
all they need is a few key enhancements and improvements...-Spyked-

Sk is targeted to the younger teen crowd, especially the ones who can run up their parents phone bill from buying ringtone clips and pointless apps haha. I wasted a lot of money in my sidekick days (mostly $5+ games), especially when I went from one danger device to the other. I noticed the same $6-$7 games on the sidekick are like $1-$2 in the android market. I even got slimeball speedway for free. I just wish the lx was hackable.
